Light plays a crucial role in architecture, yet managing it can often pose challenges, especially in situations with limited access or, as in our case, requiring specific applications. Skylights excel in illuminating rooms, but one of their main drawbacks is the lack of control over the direction of light and the significant variation in the amount of light reaching our building. In the situation presented, our solution, installed on the roof to serve the art gallery, tackles an exceptionally challenging environment to work with light. To avoid direct illumination of artworks and to maintain consistent conditions in the exhibition, we opted to replace the skylight with mirrors designed to refract and redirect the light.
