2024 - Solstice Kaleidoscope

This project is located in Liepāja, Latvia, the city where the wind is born and the sun sets over the enchanting Baltic Sea. The summer solstice is an extravagant celebration celebrated in Latvia every year. Communities unite to revel in song, eat delicious foods and partake in traditional dances. Celebrations like these should be enriched by projects that bring smiles into people’s faces. The solstice kaleidoscope, strategically positioned, at the perfect time of the day casts vibrant shadows, serving as a delightful embellishment to the already joyous celebration. The project consists of 3 glass discs measuring 1000 millimeters across and standing at a height of 1.5 meters. Each of these vivid discs features a unique mosaic design, which can be rotated to produce diverse shadow displays.
