Türkiye is a country located at the intersection of the European and Asian continents. The area where we work is idle, empty land in the Karabağlar district of Izmir city in the Aegean region. According to research, there are security problems arising from darkness in Turkey, as in all parts of the world. According to research, crime rates are high in areas with inadequate lighting, and people are more likely to be in a state of fear. According to a study conducted in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul, the feeling of fear is felt most late at night. As a result, evening hours do not provide enough sense of security. The “Gender and Women’s Perception Research 2020 Report” conducted in Turkey in 2020 explains that seven out of ten women do not feel safe on the streets after nine o’clock at the latest. We considered the security problem in Turkey, especially against women, as the main problem for our project. In general, we see the lack of child care cabins as a problem for families with children. Although there are parks designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12, there is no space for children between the ages of 0 and 5 and their needs. In our opinion, we advocate that families in society should not have to constantly seek a private space for their children and that this should be provided. When we examine the area we have chosen, although there are educational units, especially primary schools, there is no area designed for children. In addition, we think that the area we have chosen has a high potential for this. We tried to solve security problems in the area we designed by combining them with the elements needed by society and environmental health. We ensure that the electricity source for all our furniture, which serves as lighting at night, is sunlight. Thanks to the solar panels we positioned in the car parking area we designed in our area, we make the area safer by using the solar energy we stored in the morning for lighting in the evening. By using sunlight in this way, we do not harm nature, and we invest in the future by designing a sustainable park. Another area where we use sunlight is the children’s playground. By using it in the playground, we design a creative and natural playground for children and enable them to benefit from sunlight. Also the shade playground we have designed for children will both develop children’s creative intelligence. The paths we have designed are responsible for ensuring human circulation in the morning hours. At night, thanks to its lighting, it creates a brighter park and guides pedestrians. The baby care cabin is designed for families with children and provides a special area to meet the needs of their babies. At night, it serves as a safe area thanks to its lighting. By designing work and rest areas, we wanted to provide a space that both families and people of different profiles can use to work also students nearby can use to study. We also envision it being used as an area where women can safely gather in the evenings.
