This project addresses issues of excessive heat, glare, and privacy/intimacy in urban housing in Copenhagen, marked by large windows. The suggested solution of window intervention aims at enhancing privacy/intimacy and comfort for residents. Through an exploration of shadowscape at home, the intervention provides adaptive options around the window to meet diverse needs, adapting to significant seasonal daylight changes in the Nordic climate.

Grounded in a theoretical framework, the design examines how daylight and shadow influence social gatherings and home atmosphere. With adjustable features, the intervention allows for control over light and shadow distribution indoors. By dividing large windows into partitions tailored for different uses and privacy/intimacy needs, residents can adjust according to weather and preferences.

This project seeks to raise awareness about the importance of both daylight and shadow in improving living conditions, advocating for small-scale interventions. Additionally, it addresses the impact of global warming on urban living by offering solutions to adapt to changing climatic conditions and enhance spatial quality in living environments.
