It originates from the examination of the traditional tombstone design and the pursuit of personalized memorial methods. Although traditional tombstones have certain historical and traditional significance, in today’s society, they often lack innovation and personalization, and are difficult to resonate with worshippers. In this context, we pursue a new type of tombstone design, with the rainbow spectrum as the theme and integrating art and technology. In the specific festivals and worship period, the color of the spectrum will be changed, to provide a more memorable and meaningful way to commemorate the deceased.
To realize the spectral color change of the prism dispersion, we assembled the temperature sensor and shade and prism, the temperature sensor detects the ambient temperature and transmitted the data to the control system. The control system adjusts the color or transmittance of the filter according to the temperature change, and controls the Angle or position of the dispersion prism, so that the light after the filter presents different spectral colors when passing through the dispersion prism. In this way, the effect of changing the spectral color according to the temperature change can be achieved. In ordinary times, the temperature sensor senses the changes of the weather seasons to change the spectral color; in the family worship and paper burning ceremony, the sensor senses the temperature rise, the spectral color will change, as if in the dead people dialogue.
Due to the rich sacrificial culture and celebration activities in southern Fujian, we chose the site of the cemetery in Meizhou Island, the holy land of Mazu in southern Fujian. Sacrifice to Mazu and the sea god is the most important sacrificial activity in southern Fujian, and just in the same period as the Qingming Festival and Mazu and Neptune respectively, the spectrum will show the golden and red, and the golden color represents wealth and prosperity; red expresses the blessing and celebration of Mazu; During the Hungry Ghost Festival, the spectrum shows blue and golden, blue expresses the awe and respect for the sea, the golden color expresses the awe and pray for the sea god, bless the fishermen safe return to sea, a successful harvest.
