The mortise and tenon structure of the essence of ancient Chinese architecture originated from the Hemudu period more than 7,000 years ago, and the mortise and tenon joints between the various wooden structures coincide to form an elastic framework. Traditional Chinese wooden architecture is not only an architectural skill, but also has rich cultural and humanistic values, and is also a form of cultural inheritance and artistic expression.
The design is based on the mortise and tenon structure one by one, while showing the mortise and tenon structure, it explores the modern expression or innovative design of the mortise and tenon structure, guides the audience to understand the principle and aesthetics of the mortise and tenon structure through the spatial layout of the exhibition, and summarizes the entire exhibition with the final model building, showing the essence and unique aesthetic concept of ancient Chinese architectural culture, and enhancing the audience’s sense of participation and experience.
Relatively transparent materials are used, so that the light injected by the light source is reflected in the light guide material to form a mortise and tenon structure, and the color of the light guide material is presented by the difference in the absorption spectrum.
On the one hand, the use of light sources makes the components appear in form and color, and at the same time acts as a guide to the direction of people. At the same time, the light-absorbing material of the floor blocks the reflection of light, so that the interior of the building is kept dark to highlight the main part. The interior of the building without wall columns is separated by a dark-light area, allowing for more flexibility in the interior layout of the building.
