2024 - MFG Arts-Wing Extension

Introduction
The aim of my diploma project was to expand the original building as it lacks space for art education – which is it’s main
profile. As of now the school’s unit is divided into external rented rooms, creating a rift in the school’s physical and spiritual
integrity.

Highlited design choices
The extension would restore this unity with well lit openable spaces. The art rooms have a roof window with streched film
cover on the inside for light diffusion. Also for this purpose I have planned opalescent glass slat rovs in front of the full forntal
openings on both sides – so the students can feel the change of time during the day but the quality of light stays the same.
The same pattern is repeated at the lower level with metal sheets for full coverage of the dance rooms during events.
