The light of tomorrow is a contrasting light. It is at the same time the light we seek, the light we want more of, and the light we hide from. The reason we would like more light is our health, but we have less of it due to air pollution. Smog causes the intensity of natural light to decrease. Light has a positive effect on mental health. On the other hand, light causes heat islands in cities and overheating in homes. LightHub finds a solution to such problems related to the light of tomorrow. According to the study, we spend an hour longer at home compared to before the pandemic. According to IPA TouchPoints data, the average time spent at home is 18 hours 43 minutes. Given the large impact of natural light on our health, we should especially take it into account when designing urban housing.

The LightHub project confronts the problem of urban agglomerations. A building that complements the dense urban structure maximizes the use of natural light. The stepped form allows light and ventilation to as many apartments as possible. Curved recesses instead of traditional windows allow for more efficient lighting of the apartments. In addition, the specificity of the glass block diffuses light, evenly illuminates the room, and eliminates the effect of glare.
