Background
Haeundae, a jewel of Busan, is renowned for its stunning coastline and abundant tourism resources. However, with urban development and increasing tourist numbers, energy consumption and environmental pressures have become increasingly prominent. To address this challenge, we propose the ”Haeundae Photosynthesis” project, aiming to explore sustainable energy solutions while adding a unique landscape to the city.
Design Concept
The design of ”Haeundae Photosynthesis” is inspired by the natural process of photosynthesis. Plants absorb sunlight and convert it into energy to sustain their growth. We hope to apply this process to architectural design, using solar photovoltaic panels to collect solar energy, convert it into electricity to power the building, and provide charging services for electric vehicles.
The building adopts a circular design to maximize the light-receiving area of solar photovoltaic panels and improve energy conversion efficiency. The three-story structure consists of a solar photovoltaic panel layer, a café, and a parking lot. The solar photovoltaic panel layer is located at the top of the building and is responsible for collecting solar energy; the café is located on the second floor, providing a relaxing space for visitors; the parking lot is located on the first floor, equipped with multiple parking spaces and electric vehicle charging stations.
Innovative Highlights
Intelligent Parking Guidance System: The parking lot is equipped with an intelligent induction parking space lighting system, which indicates the status of parking spaces through light colors, making it easier for drivers to find vacant spaces quickly and improving parking efficiency.
Light and Shadow Interaction: The exterior walls of the building are made of special materials that can present different light and shadow effects depending on the angle and intensity of sunlight, adding a unique charm to the city’s nightscape.
Green Building Design: The building incorporates various green design elements, such as roof greening and rainwater collection systems, to reduce energy consumption and minimize environmental impact.
Project Significance
The ”Haeundae Photosynthesis” project is not just a building, but also an exploration and practice of sustainable development. It combines solar energy, a clean energy source, with architectural design, providing a new energy solution for the city. At the same time, it also provides a place for visitors to understand and experience the concept of sustainable development.
Future Outlook
We hope that the ”Haeundae Photosynthesis” project will become a landmark building in Haeundae, adding a touch of green and vitality to the city. We also hope that it will inspire more people to pay attention to and think about sustainable development, and work together to create a better future.
