Daylighting in building is the practice of using natural light to illuminate a building, reducing the need for artificial lighting and enhancing the overall ambiance. This is a Library design that incorporates daylighting strategies which includes, the use of skylights at the reception which opens the building to more light; as well as the use of courtyard that gives allowance for maximum daylight, so the light can come from every side into the building and make the building well lit. It also incorporates the use of large windows and curtain walls that allow for more lighting of the building and the use of low voltage tubes which makes use of the sub to lower it on during the day and they will appear like real florescent bulbs.
By incorporating these daylighting design principles, the library becomes brighter, more welcoming, and more sustainable spaces that promote occupant health and happiness while reducing environmental impact
