This design is rooted in the Great Green Wall Project. The Great Green Wall of Africa is a plan to plant a transcontinental wall of trees along the southern edge of the Sahara Desert in the Sahel region in order to prevent desertification. The project is led by the African Union to address the negative social, economic and environmental impacts of land degradation and desertification in the Sahel and Sahara regions.
Through the “green train”, we hope to provide a more suitable environment for the growth of plant seedlings in the Sahara. For the plants, we chose legumes that have nitrogen-fixing properties, so that when the “green train” passes by, it can strengthen the soil and improve the environment of a region.
Through the role of the electro-photovoltaic sheet on the top of the design, the roof can quickly change the color, thus changing the sunlight environment inside the “green train”, and then change the internal temperature, thus improving the growing environment of the plants inside, when the plants have passed the juvenile stage, and are no longer so sensitive to the intensity of sunlight and temperature, the “green train” will be able to improve the environment. When the plants are no longer sensitive to sunlight and temperature, the “green train” will be taken to the next area by the camels.
