Dharavi, hidden behind the prosperous development of Mumbai, India, lacks bright and spacious streets and sufficient water resources. Instead, it has dirty alleys and narrow houses. Despite these challenges, the people here have strong spirits and their own artistic and cultural expressions. We aim to brighten this gloomy environment with colorful light spots by capturing sunlight and projecting it through kaleidoscope equipment. This kaleidoscope symbolizes our belief that people from different cultures, values, and statuses have their own beauty and deserve recognition.

  • Concern for the Kids’ Everyday Life: Children love to observe the world through transparent and brightly colored objects, showing their love for life and longing for beauty. We plan to collect water bottles, colored transparent materials, and corrugated cardboard to create a toy for self-expression.
  • Transforming the Ordinary into the Beautiful: A kaleidoscope mixes and matches ordinary objects, creating new creativity, stimulating sparks of inspiration, and forming a sense of unity. It’s like using limited materials to create magic and new treasures.
  • Mapping the Future Through Everyone’s Color: Under sunlight, everyone’s colors bloom through the kaleidoscope, making people feel active and mentally comforted. This not only solves the problem of lighting in dark spaces but also gives the community a sense of belonging.
