South Korea is characterized by a basin topography surrounded by mountains, resulting in limited areas for building construction. Consequently, buildings are often tall and densely packed. This leads to many indoor environments where sunlight is obstructed by high-rise buildings, making it difficult to enjoy adequate natural light. Our team has devised a solution to this issue by designing an automatic adjustable reflector inspired by traditional Korean eaves. This system uses reflective mirrors to direct light between buildings, ensuring that sunlight reaches the desired areas. Ultimately, we anticipate that our lighting device will increase the amount of natural light in indoor spaces across South Korea.
