In cities and towns, we can often observe such phenomena as a ‘dead zone’ or ‘blind spot’. We have created our own rule for this phenomenon. A DBZ is a zone in the middle of a city or town that:

  • Has a certain area, but has no clear or no function at all
  • Has a certain environment
  • Can be a potential point of influence
  • For this competition, we have used a specific example of a location, but the idea is universal for any situation. Our example: The former fountain near the House of Artists in Kyiv. This site meets all the criteria of our DBZ rule.

Our proposal to solve this problem: A fairly primitive and lightweight wigwam-like structure with suspended reflective elements. Two matter (energies) interact and give life around them. This design automatically makes the site work for the environment. This synergy of sun, wind, and matter creates a small oasis in the middle of the city, which has a positive effect on the mental health of the people around it.
