The project is situated in the heart of Preston’s city centre, drawing inspiration from its rich textile and cotton industry heritage. In addition to celebrating this cultural significance, the design addresses a contemporary social issue, bridging the gap between the old and the new while offering an architectural solution.

Preston, a city steeped in textile and cotton heritage, witnessed the rise and fall of its once-thriving industry. Now, its abandoned mills and neglected factories serve as silent witnesses to a bygone era. This project pays homage to the city’s vibrant past while anticipating its future.

The meticulously-built facade showcases textures and patterns that were once trademarks of the city. To commemorate the spirits of those who once breathed life into Preston’s fabric industry, the arches symbolize the establishments where these skilled individuals dedicated their time and effort. Beyond aesthetics, the design embraces sustainability and functionality, with seamlessly integrated energy-efficient systems that minimize environmental impact. The project also incorporates inviting communal spaces that encourage socialization and relaxation, fostering a deep sense of belonging among its users.

The project acts as a testament to the harmonious union of the past and present. With each passing day, it continues to embrace the reverberations of history, forge new memories, and actively contribute to the unfolding story of reviving Preston’s urban tapestry.
