2024 - Buddha Hall of Light

Design description: The project is located in a small mountain village in Shucheng County, Lu’an City, Anhui Province, China. A Buddha Hall is constructed as a modern public building in the area, as most of the local people believe in Buddhism. A huge curvilinear public building can serve as a new spectacle, causing locals to gather and discuss, enhancing cohesion, as the local population has lost much of its population due to economic reasons, and at the same time attracting tourists from outside the area to come and play, and increasing the local income from culture and tourism. The shape of the building is like a lantern, during the daytime daylight through the components into the interior, there is a good effect of light and shadow, shaping the divinity; at night the warmth of the building’s internal light faintly penetrated, quietly decorated with the quiet wilderness. The nodding head of Buddha blesses people’s faith, and the halo of light ignites people’s hope.
