The ‘Aurora’ project. The starting point for the project was the positive impact of daylight and light therapy on human health. Mental condition among the inhabitants of large metropolises is a burning issue that our team sought to respond to. The form of the ‘Aurora’, made of iridescent foil, is based on a regular twelve-sided grid (NASA publishes the open-source Stareshade grid we applied). The core of our design is a double screw, thanks to which we can: fix the form on the glass with a vacuum suction cup and also change the size – rolled up and unrolled. The final model is printed in 3D. ‘Aurora’ is at the same time a window decoration and an element that positively changes the aura of the interior – while working at the office we can catch a moment of peace, contemplating the changing light reflections.
