Abhainn is an equestrian center located in Umultowo, Poznan, a city in the northwest of Poland. The design encompasses two locations: Abhainn Equestrian Centre on the outskirts in Umultowo and Abhainn Pavilion in the heart of Poznan’s recreation zones by the River Warta, which features walking, cycling, and kayaking activities. The concept behind the design is to enhance the connection between humans and horses, catering to both novices and professionals. The riverside path offers serene and calming views, providing an escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The center includes a restaurant for event viewers and overnight visitors, along with an on-site hotel. The hotel is uniquely designed with glass floors that allow guests to view the stables directly below, ensuring a continuous bond with their horse companions even after activities conclude.

The building prominently features natural wooden beams, with its main structural elements being X-shaped columns that support the entire structure. This design creates a sense of verticality and unifies the public arena area with the more private stables and hotel space. Lighting throughout the facility is designed to be as natural as possible, utilizing large windows and skylights to maximize natural light. The unique shape of the equestrian center fosters a profound connection to nature, setting it apart from other facilities.

In addition to its architectural features, the Abhainn Equestrian Centre offers a variety of amenities designed to enhance the experience for both horses and their handlers. The stables are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the comfort and well-being of the horses. Spacious paddocks and training arenas provide ample space for riding and training activities. Moreover, the Abhainn Pavilion in the city center serves as a cultural and social hub, hosting equestrian events, exhibitions, and workshops. Its location by the River Warta adds to the charm, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The pavilion’s design includes large terraces and open spaces that allow visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the river and surrounding greenery.

Overall, the Abhainn Equestrian Centre stands out not only for its innovative design and connection to nature but also for its commitment to fostering a deeper relationship between humans and horses. Whether for a leisurely visit or professional training, Abhainn provides a unique and enriching experience that blends the beauty of nature with top-notch equestrian facilities.
